Supporting local communities and driving progress

Jax Mine is a testament to QCoal’s innovative edge and dedication to quality within the Northern Hub. The Jax mining lease was approved in December 2013, and it quickly became a vital part of the QCoal operations. Today it boasts capacity to produce up to 1.8 million tonnes of coal annually, building on our drive for progress.

Before production began, the Jax bulk sample was meticulously analysed to ensure the coal’s quality met our customers’ high standards. Once the mining lease was approved, the Jax Mine became an integral part of the QCoal Northern Hub operation.

Every tonne of coal from the Jax Mine is processed through the QCoal Northern Hub infrastructure facility and railed to Abbot Point Coal Terminal. Here it is exported to customers locally and abroad, while providing jobs and regional support right here in Queensland.
