QCoal announced today it had reappointed mining services provider Thiess to a three-year contract extension, with a further three-year extension option, at Northern Hub.The contract, for almost $600m over three years, will mean Theiss continues to provide full mining services at Northern Hub, including statutory control of the site, all mining activities, maintenance and asset management, and rehabilitation works.
QCoal Managing director Chris Wallin said the Northern Hub relationship with Theiss had been extremely positive for both organisations.
“We have worked with Theiss for almost 20 years at Northern Hub, supporting Collinsville and local communities through our employment of more than 1000 local, regional Queenslanders,” Mr Wallin said.
